A.R. Rahman’s historic Attari Border concert honors BSF ahead of ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ release
A.R. Rahman performs live at Attari border for the first time, saluting BSF and promoting Imtiaz Ali’s Partition drama Main Vaapas Aaunga
Oscar-winning music maestro A. R. Rahman created history with his first-ever live performance at the Attari border post in Punjab during the iconic Beating Retreat ceremony. The event, titled “Jai Ho — A Musical Salute to the Bravehearts,” was held at JCP Stadium and celebrated the courage and sacrifice of the Border Security Force.
Rahman opened the evening with “Chanda Suraj Lakhon Taare” before showcasing songs from filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming cross-border drama Main Vaapas Aaunga. Performances included “Maskara” by Nilanjana Ghosh and Vedang Raina, followed by “Ishq Mastana” featuring Mohit Chauhan, Pooja Tiwari and Nargis. The concert concluded with Rahman’s patriotic anthem “Maa Tujhe Salaam.”

The film’s team dedicated the soundtrack to India’s armed forces. Set against the backdrop of Partition, the movie stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh and Vedang Raina and releases on June 12.
