Kochi: Director V K Prakash has approached the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail following serious allegations of sexual abuse made by a woman scriptwriter.
Prakash denied the claims, asserting they are false and part of an extortion attempt. He has also lodged a complaint against the scriptwriter, alleging that she had previously sent him semi-nude photographs via WhatsApp. The screenshots of this WhatsApp chat has been included in his petition as evidence. He added that a complaint has been made to the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Further, Prakash stated that there is an existing complaint against the young lady who claimed to be the victim here, by a director in a different case.
Allegations against V K Prakash
A young scriptwriter has accused V K Prakash of misconduct during a meeting on April 4, 2022, in a Kollam hotel room. She claims Prakash, who had shown interest in her script idea, invited her under the pretext of discussing the story but instead attempted to kiss her and forcibly moved her onto the bed.
Despite her resistance, Prakash reportedly sent her ₹10,000 for travel expenses the following morning, urging her not to damage his reputation. Initially hesitant to report the incident, the writer has now come forward with her allegations, supported by assurances from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This was her first experience in the film industry, and she has expressed deep disappointment at Prakash's behaviour.
