Mumbai: Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, known for his National Award-winning work, has announced that his upcoming film, “The Delhi Files - The Bengal Chapter,” will be released on August 15 next year. This film will be the first part of a two-part series.
Agnihotri, famous for movies like “The Tashkent Files,” “The Kashmir Files,” and “The Vaccine War,” made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter). He shared a poster showcasing a silhouette of a child reaching towards the national emblem in the background.

The film features Agnihotri's wife, Pallavi Joshi, who is co-producing it. The cast also includes well-known actors such as Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Puneet Issar, Babbu Maan, Govind Namdev, and Palomi Ghosh.
To prepare for this project, Agnihotri reportedly delved into extensive research, reading over 100 books and more than 200 articles on the historical events that inspire his film. He and his team traveled to 20 states, studying over 7,000 research pages and more than 1,000 archived articles.
Further details about the film remain undisclosed.
