Vikram and Suriya are set to reunite in director Shankar’s upcoming film, based on the renowned Tamil novel Veerayuga Nayagan Velpari, say reports. This marks their first collaboration in 21 years, having previously acted together in the movie Pithamagan, directed by Bala, where Vikram won the National Award for Best Actor.
This film will be Shankar and Vikram’s third collaboration, following their successful projects Anniyan and I, both of which were major hits. For Suriya, this will be his first film with Shankar. He was previously considered for the role in the Vijay-starrer Nanban, a remake of the Hindi film Three Idiots, but did not participate in that project.

Veerayuga Nayagan Velpari, written by S. Venkatesan, is one of the most beloved Tamil novels, and Shankar has already secured the rights to adapt it. He mentioned that he has been working on the script for this much-anticipated film. Fans are excited to see this iconic duo back on screen after so many years.
Suriya's Kanguva
Suriya's highly anticipated upcoming film Kanguva, directed by Siva, showcases the actor in an intense, action-driven character. Set 1,500 years in the past, Kanguva features a diverse cast, including Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, and Jagapathi Babu. Produced by Studio Green, the film has an impressive budget of over Rs 350 crore and has been shot across seven countries and various locations in India. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, Kanguva follows other major South Indian releases like "Kalki 2898 AD" and is set to hit theaters on November 14.
Vikram's Thangalaan
Directed by Pa. Ranjith, Thangalaan, was released on August 15 and over the weekend, this film’s collection reached Rs 72 crore worldwide. Alongside Pasupathy, Arjun Anbudan, Daniel Caltagirone, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Hari Krishnan, and Preeti Karan, Vikram plays the film's lead role. Set during the British Raj era, a fierce tribal leader sets out to stop an apparent sorceress, after earning her wrath when assisting a British general in tracing gold in their village.
