Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan, who gained pan-Indian recognition with his recent role in Marco, has revealed his biggest regret in his acting career. The 37-year-old actor shared his wish to take on a certain role before turning 40, saying it's a type of character he hasn't yet explored.

In an interview with Galatta Plus, Unni opened up about his longing to portray a romantic role, similar to Nivin Pauly's in the iconic film Premam. "It is one of my biggest miss-outs after coming into movies," Unni said. He went on to add that such roles have never been offered to him, despite his ongoing success in the industry.

Unni further shared, “I think I should be doing something like that before I turn 40 because I don’t want that emotion to leak out and I don’t want to come across as a 25-year-old while I’m in my 40s and explore that emotion." He emphasised that he would like to take on such a role in the next 2 to 4 years. However, if the opportunity doesn’t arise, he plans to focus on other projects.

The actor also shared his belief that romance can unfold beautifully later in life. “If it doesn’t happen, because I have other plans that will cost me some time, I will then explore the life after 40. Romance that unfolds after 40, which I truly believe happens,” Unni added. This shows his commitment to exploring different aspects of love and life, regardless of age.
