Its record-breaking audio launch in Malaysia, attended by 75,000+ fans, is now streaming on Zee5 and airing on Zee Tamil.

The record-breaking audio launch event for Thalapathy Vijay's final film Jana Nayagan will be available for streaming on Zee5 and broadcast on Zee Tamil starting January 4 at 4:30 PM, allowing fans worldwide to witness the historic farewell celebration held in Malaysia last week.
The December 27 event at Kuala Lumpur's Bukit Jalil Stadium drew between 75,000 and 85,000 attendees, earning recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records as the first Tamil film audio launch outside India to achieve such attendance. At the six-hour ceremony, dubbed "Thalapathy Thiruvizha," the 51-year-old actor delivered an emotional speech confirming his retirement from cinema after 33 years.

"When I entered the cinema, I thought I was building a small sand house here. But you all have built me a palace," Vijay told the crowd. "For the fans who gave up everything for me, I'm giving up cinema itself."
Historic Transition from Screen to Politics
The farewell event featured performances by composer Anirudh Ravichander, who led a 45-minute medley of Vijay's hits with nearly 30 singers. Directors, including Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj, who have helmed some of Vijay's biggest blockbusters, attended to share tributes.
Vijay founded his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, in February 2024 and plans to contest Tamil Nadu's 2026 assembly elections. The party's ideology centres on "Secular Social Justice," supporting social justice, secularism, and egalitarianism.
Final Film Aims for Pongal Box Office
Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller starring Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, with supporting roles from Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani. The film releases January 9, 2026, to coincide with the Pongal festival, where it will face competition from other major releases.
Vinoth addressed speculation at the Malaysia launch, clarifying that the film is "100 per cent" original and not a remake of the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking their fifth collaboration.
