Shraddha Kapoor has weighed in on the ongoing conversations around Dhurandhar, calling out what she described as a wave of negative publicity and manufactured controversies surrounding the spy thriller. Taking to Instagram, the actor praised the film’s impact and resilience, stating that no amount of adverse campaigning could bring down a genuinely strong film.

In her post, Shraddha humorously criticised director Aditya Dhar for making audiences wait months for the sequel, asking him to prepone its release. She described Dhurandhar as a “phenomenal experience” and highlighted it alongside other notable Hindi releases of 2025, underlining what she sees as a strong year for the industry.

More pointedly, Shraddha referred to earlier remarks by Yami Gautam, who had spoken about the presence of a “negative PR machinery” and deliberately manufactured controversies targeting the film. According to Shraddha, Dhurandhar endured these pressures and still emerged successful, reinforcing her belief that audience trust ultimately decides a film’s fate.

Aditya Dhar responded to Shraddha’s comments with gratitude, acknowledging her support as the film continues its box office run. Dhurandhar has drawn attention not only for its commercial success but also for the debate around alleged smear campaigns and coordinated criticism during its release phase.

The film, inspired by real-life incidents, follows a spy who infiltrates gangster Rehman Dakait’s network in Lyari, Pakistan, to extract intelligence for India’s RAW aimed at countering terrorism. Featuring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan, the film has crossed the ₹500 crore mark globally within 10 days.

Ranveer Singh also addressed the film’s journey amid criticism with a reflective Instagram post about patience and perspective. The sequel to Dhurandhar is currently slated for release on March 19, 2026, where it is expected to clash with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for the Grown-Ups.
