Actress Shaalin Zoya has spoken out against what she describes as cyberbullying after users on social media began targeting her with an old TikTok video featuring Edavela Babu, who is currently facing sexual harassment allegations.

In a note shared on X, Shaalin condemned the resurfacing of the video, which was filmed years ago during a movie shoot when a trending song inspired her to create it.

"What should I speak up about? It was a TikTok video took years ago in between a movie shoot. And this song was trending that time and clearly thought it will be funny to tag him along since him having the same name.

Shaalin expressed frustration over the timing of the video's resurgence, calling it a form of cyber abuse aimed at slut-shaming her. “To make it viral at this exact time to slut-shame me is another level of cyber abuse. What can I do? If I respond, it will only lead to more trolling. The cyber-world is cruel,” she wrote.

"I don’t like how people insult others so randomly and casually in the name of ‘thug life’. The same people are then celebrated for such acts, which is even worse. It’s high time we choose kindness over cruelty," Shaalin added.

She also criticized the "nameless bullies" behind the attacks, calling them the real villains and expressing her disdain for their behaviour.
