Salman Khan brought humour and warmth to the Sitaare Zameen Par premiere, joking that Aamir Khan stole the film from him

The Mumbai premiere of Sitaare Zameen Par was a glittering Bollywood affair, with Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan attending to support their friend Aamir Khan. While the event itself was star-studded, it was Salman’s candid humour that became the highlight.
On the red carpet, Salman amused everyone by revealing—tongue-in-cheek—that the film’s concept was originally offered to him by Aamir. “He invited me to see this subject. I really loved the film and said yes. Then I get a call saying, ‘I’m making the film’,” he said with a smirk.
He continued joking, “I praised the film so much that Aamir decided to do it himself.” Salman also playfully hinted at Aamir’s personal matters, saying he was tied up with “paperwork” at the time—an apparent reference to Aamir’s divorce from Kiran Rao. The comment drew chuckles from the crowd.
Aamir took the jokes sportingly, replying with a laugh: “Aisa ho sakta hai ki wo haan bole aur main beech mein aaun? (Is it possible that he agrees and I end up being in it?)”
The two stars shared light-hearted moments, posed for photos, and entertained onlookers, turning the premiere into a memorable event.
About the film:
Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, is a spiritual sequel to Aamir’s acclaimed 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. It is the official Hindi remake of the Spanish hit Campeones, and tells the inspiring story of a basketball coach who must train a team of differently abled children.
Genelia D’Souza stars alongside Aamir, with a cast of ten newcomers: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The film releases in cinemas nationwide on 20 June.
