Mumabi: Ranveer Singh has chosen to remain silent amid an escalating industry dispute surrounding the ‘Don 3’ project, after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor.

According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, the actor continues to hold “deep respect” for the film fraternity and the Don 3 franchise, and believes that professional matters should be handled privately with “dignity, maturity and mutual respect”.

The statement added that Ranveer Singh has consciously refrained from responding publicly to speculation surrounding his exit from the project, saying his focus remains on his work and upcoming commitments. It further noted that he has chosen “restraint and grace” in dealing with the ongoing situation.

The controversy intensified after FWICE announced a non-cooperation directive, alleging that Ranveer Singh did not respond to multiple requests to appear before the body regarding the dispute.

The issue reportedly stems from a complaint filed by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar before the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association, which was later referred to FWICE for further examination.

During proceedings, it was stated that producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar informed the body that significant pre-production expenditure had already been incurred on the project, and that the actor’s withdrawal allegedly led to potential financial losses and disruption to the film’s schedule.

FWICE also claimed that despite issuing multiple notices and reminders, no response was received from the actor before the decision was taken. Following internal discussions, the federation announced a non-cooperation stance and urged industry members and producers to support the move until the matter is resolved.

Film body representative Ashok Pandit stated that the decision implies that affiliated workers may not collaborate on projects involving the actor, and called for industry-wide solidarity.

He added that the federation viewed the situation as a serious concern and warned against setting what it described as a negative precedent in the industry.

The development comes at a time when Ranveer Singh is enjoying strong box office momentum following the success of his recent film franchise Dhurandhar.
