
Nine years after release, Premam, the super-hit Malayalam language coming-of-age romance film directed by Alphonse Puthren, is all set for a theatrical re-release in Tamil Nadu.
The film, starring Nivin Pauly as George David in the lead role, chronicles the roller-coaster romantic journey of a youth with his friends from their teens to adulthood.

The film grossed over Rs 73 crore at the box office and is widely recognised as one of the best commercial films produced in Malayalam.
The film has a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu and was screened for more than 200 days in Chennai alone.
However, this is not the first time the filmmakers have re-released the iconic film in Tamil Nadu. In 2016, the film was released in Trichy and Tirunelveli and in Chennai in 2017.
Besides Nivin Pauly, the film also features Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian, Anupama Parameswaran, Shabareesh Varma, Krishna Sankar, Siju Wilson, Ananth Nag, Vinay Forrt, Soubin Shahir, Sharafudheen and others. The movie marked Sai Pallavi's debut film as a lead.
