The makers of Prabhas’ film The RajaSaab have decided to hold back a few scenes and a song from the initial theatrical release on January 9. These portions are expected to be added to the film a few weeks later.

According to a cast member from the film, some sequences are being reserved for later. One of them reportedly features Prabhas smoking a cigar, another is a song, along with a few additional scenes. This information was reported by Bollywood Hungama. The team plans to insert nearly 7–8 minutes of extra footage once the film settles at the box office.

Why is the cigar scene in focus?

The cigar-smoking sequence has already seen censor board scrutiny. The Central Board of Film Certification objected to the scene, citing concerns about a popular star setting the wrong example on screen. The makers had to convince the board that the smoking shot is important to the story before getting approval.

How is the film performing?

Despite the buzz around Prabhas, the film has received a mixed response so far. The Hindi dubbed version, in particular, has drawn very little attention. As per early estimates, the movie collected around ₹14.39 crore net in India across all languages by 3 pm on Day 1.

By adding fresh scenes later, the producers appear to be aiming at renewing audience interest after the first wave of footfalls. The updated version of The RajaSaab may serve as an incentive for repeat viewers once the extra content is released.
