Mala: The Mala Aravindan Foundation has sought the help of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) to arrange for someone from the film industry to attend the actor Mala Aravindan commemoration ceremony. Shanti Joseph Thattakath, general secretary of the foundation, sent a letter to Mohanlal and Edavela Babu requesting the same.
Over the course of the last eight years, attempts have been made to invite individuals from the film industry to take part in the memorial service for Mala Aravindan's death anniversary. However, despite these efforts, no one has accepted the invitation. This year, the ceremony, typically held in February, did not take place. Throughout the years, the only notable figures who have attended the event are actors Devan, Nadirsha, and Dr. RLV Ramakrishnan.
The letter mentions that numerous individuals declined the invitation to attend the memorial service of Mala Aravindan, who had acted in more than 600 Malayalam films. The foundation alleges that the government has neglected to build a memorial for the actor owing to his backward class status. AMMA also failed to intervene in this matter, it says.
