Thiruvananthapuram: The film Marco, starring Unni Mukundan, has not been given permission to be telecast on TV channels. The decision was made because the movie was granted 'A' certificate, said T Nadeem Tufail, regional officer of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He also mentioned that the Kerala committee had recommended against issuing a certificate for theatrical release.

Currently, censoring by completely removing and cutting out scenes is not done. Instead, films are categorised and certified based on their content. Parents must be vigilant to ensure that children do not watch movies with excessive violence, and the responsibility lies entirely with them. They should also be aware of the certification given to a film, Nadeem stated.

It is illegal for children to watch films with an 'A' certificate. If a complaint is received, theaters screening such films to minors may be fined up to ₹10,000, he added.

The film features Unni Mukundan in the lead role and is written and directed by Haneef Adeni. The star-studded cast also includes Siddique, Jagadish, Anson Paul, Kabir Duhan Singh, Abimanyu Thilakan and Yukti Thareja in supporting roles.
