“We used to play passing the parcel at birthday parties during our childhood,” the actor reminisced.

An anecdote many may not be aware of is that actors Malavika Mohanan and Vicky Kaushal were neighbours and childhood friends. In a candid revelation, Malavika recently spoke about their long-standing friendship on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast.
She admitted that she never imagined Vicky would become the massive star he is today, but fondly recalled that he had always been an exceptional dancer. “We used to play passing the parcel at birthday parties during our childhood. We would showcase things we were good at, and for Vicky, it was always dance. He was a very captivating dancer,” she said.
Reflecting further on their bond, she added, “We were neighbours while growing up. He is my oldest and very first friend. I was about one year old, and he was six or seven at the time, so I’ve known him since then. Whenever we meet, we simply share good food—my mother prepares wonderful Malayali dishes—and spend time talking. Our conversations are casual, and we usually don’t get into deep or reflective subjects,” adding that they do not discuss their careers.
On the professional front, Vicky Kaushal is enjoying the success of Chhaava and is currently filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Meanwhile, Malavika Mohanan’s Telugu debut film The Raja Saab is currently running in theatres, and she also featured in last year’s Malayalam hit Hridayapoorvam alongside Mohanlal.
