Saurabh Sachdeva’s powerful and enigmatic portrayal of Kuriachan in ‘Eko: Infinite Chronicles of Kuriachan’ has taken Malayalam audiences by storm. His chilling calmness, magnetic screen presence and the sense of mystery he lends to the character have made him one of the most talked-about performers currently on Kerala screens, as the film continues its successful theatrical run.

Yet, for many Malayali viewers discovering him through Eko, Saurabh Sachdeva’s influence reaches far beyond this single role. He is not only a compelling actor but also one of India’s most respected acting coaches, a mentor who has shaped the craft of some of the biggest stars in the country — including Dulquer Salmaan, one of Malayalam cinema’s most beloved actors.

Over the years, Saurabh has trained a remarkable line-up of talent. His students include Ranbir Kapoor, Rana Daggubati, Varun Dhawan, Anushka Sharma, John Abraham, Richa Chadha, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kubbra Sait, Freida Pinto and many others. His impact runs deep across industries, languages and genres.

Born on September 24, 1978 in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, Saurabh moved to Delhi for his education and later trained at Barry John’s Imago Acting School. His passion for teaching emerged early. By 2002, he had joined the institution as an instructor, stepping into a journey that would define much of his career. His dedication to the craft led him to spend more than a decade at the Mumbai branch of the Barry John Acting Studio, shaping hundreds of aspiring actors.

In 2017, he founded The Actor’s Truth, his own acting school in Mumbai, where he continues to train newcomers as well as well-established performers. Even as his acting career gained momentum with acclaimed roles in Sacred Games, Malik, Animal and Pushpa 2, Saurabh never distanced himself from teaching. His workshops for films, OTT series and theatre remain widely sought after.

With Eko, Saurabh Sachdeva has not only given Malayalam cinema one of its most riveting characters in recent memory, but has also become a familiar name among cinephiles who appreciate layered, committed acting. Behind the shadowy figure of Kuriachan stands a mentor who has helped shape the faces and performances of Indian cinema for over two decades.

Saurabh Sachdeva is, quite simply, an actor’s actor — and an industry’s teacher.
