Kochi: The Kerala Film Producers' Association (KFPA) has proposed imposing restrictions on online media.
In a letter addressed to the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), KFPA has requested that accreditation issued by them be made mandatory. The letter also contains certain guidelines to be followed by online media channels.
The proposal suggests that online media behaviour has crossed boundaries, necessitating mandatory accreditation by the Producers Association.
The requirements include submitting company registration details, including GST information, in a specified format. Accreditation will also take into account various other criteria.
Earlier, the KFPA strongly condemned instances of review bombing of newly released movies by certain online media platforms. Controversy ensued recently within the 'AMMA organization after footage of journalists being expelled from its general body meeting was broadcast on a YouTube channel.
