Los Angeles: Pop icon Justin Bieber has opened up about his ongoing struggles with mental health and anger, admitting in an emotional social media post that he feels “broken” and exhausted from trying to meet others’ expectations.
Sharing on Instagram, the singer wrote, “People keep telling me to heal. Don't you think if I could have fixed myself. I would have already? I know I am broken. I know I have anger issues. I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them. And it just keeps making me more tired and more angry.”
He added, “The harder I try to grow the more focused on myself I am . Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others. Because honestly I am exhausted with thinking about myself lately aren't you?”
This isn’t the first time Bieber has opened up recently. Just days earlier, the 30-year-old shared a tense text exchange with an unnamed friend, in which he pushed back at being accused of “lashing out.”
“I will never suppress my emotions for someone,” Bieber wrote in the now-viral screenshots. “My anger is a response to pain I have been through. Asking a traumatized person not to be traumatized is simply mean.”
The friend responded by saying they weren’t used to being on the receiving end of anger. Bieber then ended the conversation, declaring the friendship over. “This confirms u were the... I always thought u were,” he wrote. “I have good friends who will respect my boundaries.”
This series of confessions came shortly after Bieber was caught on video confronting paparazzi outside Soho House Malibu. Visibly agitated, the singer asked them to back off: “Not me today, bro. Get out of my... face!”
