The collaboration bridges two major pop markets: K-pop and British pop, bringing together BLACKPINK and former One Direction audiences.

K-pop star Jisoo and British singer Zayn Malik have joined forces for the much-anticipated single “Eyes Closed”, released on Friday. The sultry track blends ethereal melodies with emotional storytelling, exploring the thrill and uncertainty of new love.
The song opens with Jisoo’s soft vocals — “Time is standing still and I don’t want to leave your lips / Tracing my body with your fingertips” — before Zayn responds, “I know what you’re feeling and I know you want to say it / I do too, but we gotta be patient.” Together, they build a lush, cinematic soundscape around the theme of falling in love without fear of the past.
The chorus, “We should fall in love with our eyes closed / Better if we keep it where we don’t know,” captures the essence of the song’s message — surrendering to connection without overthinking or judgement. The duet blends piano, acoustic guitar, and soft electronic textures, producing a hypnotic yet intimate atmosphere.
Accompanying the release is a futuristic music video featuring both artists aboard a spaceship, awakening from suspended animation and floating through zero gravity as they travel towards Saturn. The visual narrative reinforces the idea of love transcending time, distance, and reason.
The collaboration follows months of speculation after Malik attended BLACKPINK’s New York concert in July with his daughter Khai. His post thanking the group sparked rumours of a joint project, which have now materialised with “Eyes Closed”.
This marks Jisoo’s first new release since her solo EP Amortage in February, while she continues performing on BLACKPINK’s Deadline world tour across Asia. Zayn, meanwhile, is gearing up for his first Las Vegas residency at Park MGM starting January 2026.
