Vijay's son and 'Sigma' director Jason Sanjay warns fans against fake social media accounts, shares his official handles and denies launching any fan club.

Filmmaker Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor C Joseph Vijay, has issued a warning about fake social media accounts operating under his name. The young director, who recently made his directorial debut with the heist thriller 'Sigma', urged fans and followers to be cautious of unauthorised profiles impersonating him across digital platforms.
In an official statement shared on social media, Jason identified his verified communication channels and made it clear that he would not be responsible for messages, posts or business-related approaches made through accounts other than those he had listed.
He also addressed confusion surrounding fan associations, stating that he had not established or approved any official fan club or community group. The clarification comes as the filmmaker continues to attract attention following his entry into the Tamil film industry.
Jason Sanjay identifies his official social media accounts
In his statement, Jason listed the social media profiles that he personally manages or has authorised, asking followers to rely only on these accounts for updates and communication.
He wrote, "I am here by writing to formally inform my official, authorized social media identities. Please be advised that the accounts listed below are the only profiles managed, owned, or authorized by me: ·Instagram: • User name - jason.sanjay_official; Link: https://www.instaram.com/jason.sanjay_official?igsh=NjcwbXRnNThtcmw0. Facebook: User name - Jason Sanjay. Twitter: User name - Jason Sanjay Official; Link - https://x.com/official_jsj."
The filmmaker stressed that any other account using his name, photographs or a similar identity should not be treated as genuine.
He added, "Any other accounts, pages, or profiles operating under my name, likeness, or variations of my identity on these or any other digital platforms are entirely fake. Consequently, any posts, comments, direct messages, business solicitations, or communications originating from any accounts not explicitly listed above are not mine. I hold no responsibility or liability for their content, actions, or consequences."
The statement serves as a caution to followers who may encounter accounts claiming to represent the director or offering opportunities in his name.
Jason Sanjay denies launching an official fan club
Apart from addressing impersonation on social media, Jason also clarified that no fan organisation had received his approval.
He said, "Please be informed that we have not authorized, launched, or recognized any official fan club, association, or community group. Any groups, pages, or accounts claiming to be our "official fan club" or "authorized community" are completely unofficial and unapproved."
The filmmaker's clarification makes it clear that fan pages or associations presenting themselves as officially connected to him do not have his endorsement.
Jason Sanjay's directorial debut with 'Sigma'
Jason recently entered the film industry as a director with 'Sigma', a heist thriller starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role.
Ahead of the film's theatrical release, he had spoken about the excitement and nervousness of making his directorial debut, acknowledging the expectations surrounding the project.
In a statement, he said, "I am extremely excited about the release of Sigma, and at the same time, I am equally anxious. The hype and expectations surrounding the film are immense, and I am confident that we will live up to them."
The filmmaker had also explained the creative approach adopted by his team and their efforts to make the film appealing to contemporary audiences.
He added, "Sigma is releasing worldwide in theatres on October 2, with Sakthi Film Distributors bringing the film to audiences. We have chosen a genre and a visual colour palette that we believe will connect strongly with the expectations of today’s audience. As a team, we have put in everything possible to deliver an engaging and entertaining cinematic experience."
'Confidence in a project must always come with humility'
Speaking about his filmmaking philosophy, Jason had emphasised that entertainment remained central to the project, while expressing hope that the film would appeal to viewers beyond regional and linguistic boundaries.
"As a team, we have left no stone unturned to make Sigma an entertaining and engaging cinematic saga. We have worked with the intention of creating a film that can cut across regional and linguistic barriers and connect with audiences across territories. I believe confidence in a project must always come with humility. With that confidence and sheer humility, I request audiences to watch Sigma in theatres from October 2 and experience the film with us," he urged audiences.
He had concluded his pre-release statement by acknowledging his position as a newcomer and seeking the support of cinema audiences.
"I am another debutant director stepping into this vast ocean of talent called cinema. At this stage of my journey, the support and acceptance of the audience mean everything to me. Please watch Sigma, support us, and make this journey memorable."
