Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut ‘Sigma’ opened in theatres on October 2. His mother Sangeetha Sornalingam and sister Divya Saasha attended an early show at Chennai’s Kamala Cinemas.

Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut ‘Sigma’ opened in theatres across Tamil Nadu on October 2, with the film drawing attention as the filmmaker’s first venture behind the camera. Among those who arrived for an early screening in Chennai were his mother Sangeetha Sornalingam and sister Divya Saasha.
Sangeetha and Divya attended the first show at Kamala Cinemas in Chennai. Videos and photographs from the theatre showed the duo arriving with other family members to watch the film. Sangeetha was seen in an off-white kurta set, while Divya opted for a black top paired with blue jeans.

‘Sigma’, produced by Lyca Productions, stars Sundeep Kishan in the lead role, with Faria Abdullah as the female lead. The film hit Tamil Nadu screens at around 9.30 am on Friday.
The film marks Jason Sanjay’s first directorial outing. The young filmmaker has written the project along with Ajaiy Ashok and Kaleel Raja. The story follows a rogue treasure hunter who takes on dangerous missions in pursuit of a major score, encountering traps, betrayals and unexpected challenges along the way.
With Jason making his debut as a director, ‘Sigma’ has also attracted considerable attention because of his family background. His father, actor-turned-politician and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, has not been part of the film’s promotions.

Jason recently spoke about how he expects his father to react after watching the film. He said Vijay usually takes time to process a film before sharing his opinion and expressed confidence that his father would eventually like ‘Sigma’ and be proud of his work.
Whether Vijay will watch ‘Sigma’ in a theatre on its opening day, however, remains unclear. He is scheduled to be involved in the October 2 launch of the expanded free bus travel scheme for women before travelling to Madhurantakam for an election campaign. The expanded scheme was announced earlier to take effect from October 2.
