Mumbai: Following the release of the much-anticipated teaser for Toxic, discussions surrounding the film have intensified, with director Geetu Mohandas taking to social media to extend birthday wishes to actor Yash. In her heartfelt post on Facebook, Geetu praised Yash for his unwavering passion for cinema, describing him as an actor with an unshakable commitment to his craft.

In the post, she expressed that beyond the excitement of their upcoming journey, the one thing Yash is certain of is his deep-rooted love for the art of filmmaking. Geetu remarked: “Toxic – a fairy tale for grown-ups – will defy conventions and provoke the chaos within us.”

Geetu described Yash as a visionary whose “swagger” and brilliance have made an indelible impact on the film industry. She went on to say: “I have observed his brilliance, and to those who know him or follow his journey, his process is as mysterious as it is meticulous. It is both a privilege and a thrill to have co-written this world alongside a mind that sees the extraordinary where others see the ordinary.”

The director further reflected on the collaboration between the two, noting that when their two worlds of thought collided, the result was neither compromise nor chaos, but a transformative experience that combines artistic vision with commercial precision. “The transformation that happens when artistic vision meets the precision of commercial storytelling transcends borders, languages, and cultural confines,” Geetu continued. “We hope to bring an experience woven to ignite something primal in all of us—a film not just to be watched, but to be felt.”

Geetu spoke with reverence about Yash’s process, which she described as a quiet journey of creation, adding: “Through his process of quiet reverence for his craft, he taught me that the journey of creation is sacred. To him, nothing is certain except the thrill of the journey ahead.”

The director concluded with a heartfelt birthday wish, saying: “Happy birthday to our Monster mind!” She also shared a Rumi quote that seemed fitting for the actor’s approach to his craft: “When you let go of who you are, you become what you might be.”

Earlier, the film had been at the centre of some controversy when director Nithin Renji Panicker criticised Geetu Mohandas. Nithin took to Instagram to accuse Geetu of conveniently changing her stance on misogyny after leaving Kerala.
