Sivakarthikeyan is now a name to reckon with in the South Indian film industry. Having acted in as many as 22 films over a decade, he made his debut with the film Marina in 2012. Since then, it has been a rollercoaster journey for the young actor, who initially stepped into the entertainment industry as a television anchor. He is currently basking in the success of Amaran, a movie based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the movie opened to rave reviews, with many praising Sivakarthikeyan's performance. The promising actor has several exciting projects lined up, including a film with national award-winning director Sudha Kongara.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Anupama Chopra for The Hollywood Reporter India, Sivakarthikeyan candidly shared his struggles in the film industry and the humiliations he faced as an "outsider."
"I think over the last 20 years or so, I might be one of the very few who have made it this far in the Tamil film industry apart from the mammoth successes of Ajith sir and Vikram sir, who were also 'outsiders' in the industry, just like me," Sivakarthikeyan said.
In the interview, the upcoming superstar did not mince words, even revealing a period 2–3 years ago when he considered leaving the film industry due to the stress.
"Some time ago, there were people who directly asked me, 'Who are you? What is your place in this industry?' After struggling so much to reach this point, such comments can be really disheartening. But I always had a smile reserved for such people. I had no option but to move forward. I have so much more to do for the people who genuinely love me, including my family, friends, and fans," he shared.
At the moment, Sivakarthikeyan's success serves as a testament to his talent, as he is currently one of the most sought-after actors in the country.
Sivakarthikeyan's unfazed attitude, his determination to face challenges head-on, and his commitment to personal growth are truly inspiring—qualities that those following in his footsteps can certainly imbibe!
