
During the teaser launch of Empuraan, Mohanlal shared his thoughts on working with director Prithviraj, speaking of his ability to adapt to changes in cinema and provide a fresh visual experience. The actor also spoke of Prithviraj’s precise understanding of what he expects from his actors, adding that the film had a certain “magic” that was successfully brought to life.
"He is a very cruel director. He will extract what he wants from us, and that’s how films are made," said Mohanlal, praising director Prithviraj. "Actors perform well because of the director. There are many people here who have been my directors, and I trust my director. As an actor, I have high hopes for Prithviraj. He will be one of the best directors in India."

Mohanlal also acknowledged that Prithviraj is destined to create films like Empuraan, with the actors merely playing a part in his vision. "As Prithvi mentioned, we faced many obstacles during the making of Empuraan. But it’s all within us. The film carries 100 percent of Prithviraj’s essence. I know it because I have seen the film, and now you are going to see it too."
Mohanlal also thanked Murali Gopy, the scriptwriter of the film. "Thank you, Murali (Murali Gopi), it was born from your pen," Mohanlal remarked. Mohanlal also spoke about the Lucifer franchise, noting that Empuraan, the second part, is titled after the term ‘Empuran,’ which refers to someone ‘a little below God.’

Produced by Lyca Productions, the film marks their debut in the Malayalam film industry. Shot across eight states and four countries over 14 months, Empuraan features an all-star cast, including Manju Warrier, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrajith, Fazil, Saniya Iyyappan, Prithviraj, Nyla Usha, and Arjun Das.
The film will also introduce international stars, such as French actor Eriq Ebouaney and British actress Andrea Tivadar, further boosting its global appeal. Fans can look forward to the highly anticipated film, which is set to release in theatres on March 27.
