Actor Chandu Salimkumar, son of veteran comedian Salim Kumar, recently grabbed attention with his spot-on mimicry of the iconic Saroj Kumar dialogue from the movie Udayananu Tharam. This came in response to a question posed to him following the screening of his latest film, Painkili.

When asked whether this marked his grand comeback, Chandu humorously replied, "This is not about me. My first entry itself was under the privilege of my father. Stars are created when actors deliver such impactful performances. It is the intelligent filmmakers who create stars. I am not the star—Sajin Gopu is the star."

Painkili marks Sajin Gopu’s debut in a lead role, an actor who has previously impressed audiences with his versatile portrayals, including the roles of Amban in Aavesham and Mariano in Ponman. The film, directed by actor Sreejith Babu, also features Chandu in a prominent role.

Produced under the banners of Fahadh Faasil & Friends and Urban Animal by Fahadh Faasil and Jithu Madhavan, Painkili is penned by Jithu Madhavan, the acclaimed director behind superhit films like Romancham and Aavesham.

The movie boasts an ensemble cast including Roshan Shanavas, Abu Salim, Jisma Vimal, Lijo Jose Pellissery, Riyaz Khan, Ashwathy B., Ambili Ayyappan, Pramod Uppu, Alluppan, Sharadhamma, Vijay Jacob, Devananda, Deepu Panicker, Sunitha Joy, Judson, Ajay, Sulekha, Pranav Yesudas, Shibukuttan, Aravind, Purushothaman, Nikhil, and Sukumaran, among others.
