Fans of ‘Bigg Boss 20’ were left anxious after a dramatic promo from the latest ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode showed host Salman Khan appearing to suffer chest pain on stage, asking for water and calling for medical assistance. The visuals, which quickly spread across social media, sparked speculation about the actor’s health before Salman later clarified that he was well and that the sequence had been taken out of context.

The episode had initially focused on Salman’s strong remarks against online trolling, body-shaming and the scrutiny faced by actors, particularly women. However, the atmosphere shifted when the host was seen clutching his chest while speaking to contestants. As the apparent discomfort increased, Salman sat down on the steps of the stage and later lay on the floor, prompting concern among housemates.

Contestant Aamrapali Dubey was heard asking Bigg Boss to call Salman to the medical room, while the actor himself appeared to ask for a doctor. The promo immediately led to worried reactions online, with many fans expressing concern over the 60-year-old star’s well-being.

Promo triggers speculation over Salman’s health

The dramatic visuals led to widespread rumours on social media, with some posts even speculating about a serious medical emergency. However, the footage released in the promo only showed Salman portraying symptoms of pain and seeking assistance, without offering any explanation for the sequence.

Reports later suggested that the actor continued shooting after the segment, though viewers were left waiting for the full episode to understand what had actually happened.

Prank linked to contestant Qazi Touqeer

It was later revealed that the sequence was part of a planned segment aimed at contestant Qazi Touqeer.

According to sources associated with the show, Qazi had earlier told fellow contestants that he was unwell and had even claimed to have multiple personality disorder as part of a prank. When called to meet the in-house doctor, he reportedly admitted that he had been joking with the contestants and continued the act after returning to the house.

Salman’s staged health scare was designed to show Qazi the emotional impact of using illness as entertainment when others are genuinely concerned.

Salman criticises editing of the promo

Following the broadcast of the teaser, the 60-year-old actor addressed the issue through a statement shared on Instagram Stories, clarifying that his health was not at risk.

“Nothing is wrong with my health by the grace of God. The Bigg Boss promo should not have been cut like the way it was cut. It totally beats the purpose and looks like I am doing the same thing that Qazi was doing in the house, the pain was only to show Qazi that wat he did was wrong because he used his health for entertainment specially when the 15 people in the house were not aware that he was acting and were getting worried for his health.Sorry about the way the promo was cut. Guess it’s the format that they use in promoting the shows, I apologise on their behalf.”

In a subsequent Instagram Story, Salman informed fans that the promo had been corrected.

The makers later released an updated teaser, showing Salman exposing Qazi’s prank before the housemates, making the context behind the sequence clearer.

Salman also addresses online trolling

Before the health scare segment unfolded, Salman had spent a significant part of ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ speaking about online abuse and comments targeting celebrities over their appearance.

The actor spoke against body-shaming and criticised social media users who mock actors because of age, weight or physical changes. He also referred to the harsh comments women often receive after pregnancy and motherhood, prompting some viewers to connect his remarks with the recent trolling faced by Katrina Kaif. Salman, however, did not mention any individual by name.

Responding to remarks about his own appearance and bald look, Salman removed his cap and T-shirt during the episode and said: “You guys want to troll me? I will show you. No abs, see my look; you want to troll me now? Go on, troll me.”
