Despite his win, Gaurav Khanna faced criticism. Some called him ‘fake’, an ‘observer’ or even a ‘fixed winner’.

Gaurav Khanna has emerged victorious in Bigg Boss 19, taking home the trophy, Rs 50 lakh and a car. His journey in the house showcased patience, dignity and smart gameplay, making him one of the season’s most respected contestants.
While drama and arguments often dominated the house, Gaurav kept his cool. He rarely raised his voice, instead observing carefully and making thoughtful decisions. His calm approach and emotional intelligence won him respect from viewers and fellow contestants alike.
The Ticket to Finale task marked a turning point. Gaurav balanced a wooden plank with heavy bowls of water on his shoulders alongside Farrhana, Pranit and Ashnoor. While others struggled under pressure, he stayed focused, securing immunity at a crucial stage. This showed that persistence and composure could beat chaos.
Salman Khan later praised him as the “Superstar of TV,” defending his career after critics made negative remarks. This recognition boosted his popularity and fan support.
Gaurav’s friendships with Pranit More and Mridul Tiwari highlighted his caring nature. He offered emotional support rather than playing for the cameras. He also handled personal questions, like his decision not to have children, with honesty and grace, earning empathy from viewers. Salman called him the “green flag ambassador,” recognising his integrity and maturity.
Responding to allegations
Despite his win, Gaurav faced criticism. Some called him ‘fake’, an ‘observer’ or even a ‘fixed winner’. Speaking to India Today, he said: “First of all, these are their allegations; we shouldn’t even cater to them… But I am happy that most people like me.”
He defended his realness: “If I were a fake, I would have woken up in the morning and dressed up in designer outfits… I worked out in my slippers. I ate rice with my hands, and even kneaded dough.” He also clarified that he did not pay for votes, saying genuine connection with people earned their support.
Gaurav explained his approach: “Bigg Boss is a marathon. You don’t have to jump from the first day… You have to sprint at your own speed, and play it in your way.” His steady, thoughtful strategy helped him lift the trophy, proving that calmness can be powerful.
Farrhana Bhatt and Pranit More finished second and third, followed by Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik. Fans have praised Gaurav’s journey, celebrating his patience, dignity and smart gameplay.
