Mumbai: Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital after suffering from extreme exhaustion and a chest infection, prompting concern from across the country, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Expressing his concern, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X and wrote, “Deeply concerned to hear that Asha Bhosle Ji has been admitted to hospital. Praying for her good health and a speedy recovery.”

According to family members, the veteran singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday evening after complaining of fatigue and breathing-related issues linked to a chest infection.

Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, confirmed the development on social media, reassuring fans about ongoing treatment. She wrote, “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively.”

Following the news, fans from across India and abroad have flooded social media with messages of support and prayers for her speedy recovery. While the family has not shared further medical details, they have requested privacy as treatment continues.
