Ansiba Hassan moves court against Lakshmipriya, an online media owner and interviewer, alleging police inaction and seeking a probe into Shweta Menon's role

Kochi: Actor Ansiba Hassan has approached a court against actor Lakshmipriya and others, alleging that the police failed to take adequate action on her complaint filed with the Palarivattom Police.
After claiming that no satisfactory action was taken on her complaint, Ansiba moved the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.
Earlier, the actor had approached the court in her complaint against actor Tini Tom. Following the court's intervention, the police were directed to register a case and an FIR was subsequently filed. Ansiba has now taken a similar legal step against Lakshmipriya.
Complaint based on interview remarks
The fresh complaint is based on remarks made by Lakshmipriya during an interview with an online media outlet on June 26.
According to Ansiba, Lakshmipriya made false claims during the interview, including alleging that Ansiba consumed alcohol and that Lakshmipriya had bought alcohol for her. She alleges that these statements are untrue and were circulated through the interview.
Apart from Lakshmipriya, Ansiba has also named Sukumaran, the owner of the online media outlet that aired the interview, and Suresh, who conducted the interview, in her complaint.
Seeks probe into Shweta Menon's role
Ansiba has also requested the court to examine the role of actor Shwetha Menon in the matter.
According to the complaint, Lakshmipriya and Shweta Menon deliberately tried to insult her out of personal animosity following the resignation of the executive committee headed by Shweta Menon after the association's general body meeting.
Ansiba has further alleged that Shweta Menon entered into an agreement with a public relations agency based in Thiruvananthapuram to defame her and has asked the court to direct an investigation into the allegation.
Court seeks police explanation
Ansiba approached the court after alleging that, although the police conducted a preliminary inquiry into her complaint, no further action followed.
The court has now directed the Palarivattom Police to submit an explanation on Ansiba's complaint by the ninth of this month.
Ansiba stated she approached the court again after alleging that the police failed to take appropriate action on her complaint.
