Bollywood is currently facing one of its most challenging phases. With only a few exceptions, most films released in recent years have failed the box office. But what is causing this string of failures?

Director Nikkhil Advani, known for the beloved Bollywood film 'Kal Ho Naa Ho,' recently shared insights from a conversation with South Indian superstar Allu Arjun. According to Advani, Allu Arjun pinpointed a key issue with Bollywood's current approach.

Recalling their meeting, Advani said, "Allu Arjun and I were discussing the possibility of working together on a film. During our conversation, he asked me, 'Where did Bollywood go wrong?' He then explained that Bollywood has forgotten the concept of the hero."

Nikkhil elaborated that while people often associate South Indian cinema with mythology, South Indian films actually emphasize the hero's persona and sentimentality. it's the emotional depth and heroic portrayal that resonate with audiences.

He added that till date, Shah Rukh Khan's character in 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' showcases more heroism than many roles we've seen in recent Bollywood films

Interestingly, while Bollywood struggles, Telugu films have recently enjoyed significant success. Films like Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa,' Yash's 'KGF,' and Rishabh Shetty's 'Kantara' have not only performed well but have sparked a social media debate about South Indian cinema's dominance over Bollywood.

This debate once again got ignited with the release of 'Kalki 2898 AD.' The Hindi dubbed version of the film shattered Bollywood box office records, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year. This discussions led Nikkhil to share Allu Arjun's observations on Bollywood.
