Fans of BTS, known globally as ARMY, were recently excited by images circulating online showing Jungkook alongside Indian music icon Arijit Singh. While the photos quickly went viral, they turned out to be AI-generated, misleading fans into speculating about a potential collaboration.

BTS returned to Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square on March 21 for their ARIRANG comeback live, featuring RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The event marked their homecoming with new music and set the stage for upcoming projects, including the Netflix documentary BTS: The Return.

The photo controversy

The AI-generated photos first appeared on an Instagram account claiming to be Jungkook’s official handle, @jungkook.sin. The images included Jungkook having meals and sharing guitar sessions with Arijit Singh, with captions hinting at a secret song collaboration. Fans quickly shared the photos, fueling excitement. However, Jungkook’s real Instagram handle is @mnijungkook, and this account has previously posted fake images featuring the BTS member with other celebrities like Honey Singh and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Taste of India

BTS members Jungkook, Jimin, and V visited Café Chai in Jeju, an Indian-themed café popular for its traditional décor and Instagram-friendly ambiance. This visit reflects BTS’s growing appreciation for Indian culture, though no official collaborations with Indian artists have been confirmed.

Looking ahead

BTS is set for a global tour starting April 2026, though India is not currently on the schedule. Indian ARMY remains hopeful, as more cities may be added. HYBE, BTS’s management, has previously strengthened their presence in India with the Jungkook exhibition GOLDEN: The Moments at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai, showcasing his solo career.

The excitement around these AI-generated images highlights the enthusiasm of Indian fans but also serves as a reminder to verify social media content before jumping to conclusions about collaborations.
