Ansiba Hassan questions Shwetha Menon’s claim about Mammootty and Mohanlal’s support, calling for public clarification from the actors amid the ongoing AMMA row.

Actor Ansiba Hassan has responded to Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) president Shwetha Menon’s social media post, saying she does not believe claims that Mammootty and Mohanlal advised Menon not to resign.
Ansiba said that if such statements were made, Mammootty and Mohanlal should clarify the matter themselves directly.
Ansiba made the remarks while speaking to the media after arriving at the Kadavanthra police station to give a statement in a complaint against actor Tini Tom.
Actor Ansiba Hassan said that it was not actor Ramesh Pisharody who asked her to apologise, stating that the misunderstanding arose due to a lack of clarity in her earlier remarks.
She said Pisharody had spoken to her in the context of resolving issues within AMMA and discussed the matter of an apology based on what others had conveyed. However, the demand for an apology was actually made by the opposing parties.
“Ramesh Pisharody did not ask me to write an apology. That may not have come out clearly when I spoke earlier. He had spoken to me as part of efforts to resolve the dispute in AMMA and discussed the apology issue based on what they had said. It was the opposing side that asked me to write an apology. When I spoke earlier, I did not clearly mention the word ‘they’, which led to confusion,” she said.
Ansiba further said she has no trust in Shwetha Menon’s statements and added that if her claims are to be believed, senior actors Mammootty and Mohanlal should publicly clarify the matter.
“I have no faith in Shwetha Menon’s words. If one is to believe her, Mammookka and Lalettan should come forward and say it publicly,” she added.
Shwetha Menon has claimed through a social media post that senior actors Mammootty and Mohanlal had advised her not to resign from the president’s post of AMMA and to remain firm in her stand. She also said that “a small group of 10–15 people cannot decide how AMMA should function” and stressed that the majority of members should take the final call.
Meanwhile, following the resignation of the executive committee led by Shwetha Menon, the functioning of the ad hoc committee that took charge of AMMA has been temporarily stayed by the court. An interim order issued by Ernakulam Munsiff Court directed that the committee under Shwetha Menon’s leadership should continue functioning for the time being.
Following the court order, actor Ramesh Pisharody resigned from the ad hoc committee.
