Bengaluru: In a dramatic overnight operation, contestants of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 were shifted to a luxury resort after the show’s main set in Bidadi was sealed by government authorities for alleged environmental breaches.

According to officials, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) ordered the immediate closure of the Bigg Boss house located inside Jollywood Studios & Adventures, citing multiple violations of pollution control norms.

The set was reportedly functioning without valid consent under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act and the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act.

Violations and Closure

KSPCB inspectors found that the sewage treatment plant (STP) on the premises was non-functional, resulting in the discharge of untreated wastewater.

Authorities also noted lapses in waste segregation and disposal. Officials claim that several notices had been issued earlier, but the production failed to implement corrective measures.

Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre defended the move, saying that “no entity is above the law” and that strict action became inevitable after repeated warnings were ignored.

Secret Transfer to Eagleton Resort

Following the sealing of the property, the Ramanagara district administration coordinated an evacuation of all 17 remaining contestants and essential production staff.

Sources said the team was quietly relocated to Eagleton Golf Resort, just a few kilometres from the original set. To maintain secrecy, contestants were reportedly moved in multiple vehicles via two different routes.

Inside the resort, Bigg Boss rules remain in force — no phones, no television, no contact with the outside world — with only limited access to production crew.

Broadcast Continues with Pre-Recorded Episodes

To avoid disrupting its telecast schedule, the show’s producers have switched to pre-recorded episodes, which are now being aired with a short broadcast delay.

Legal Fight Ahead

With the main studio sealed, the future of Bigg Boss Kannada 12 hangs in the balance. The organisers are reportedly preparing to move the Karnataka High Court to challenge the KSPCB’s order and seek permission to resume production.

Until the court delivers its verdict, the fate of the ongoing season remains uncertain. Fans across Karnataka are waiting to see whether Bigg Boss Kannada will stage a comeback or face an abrupt shutdown this year.
