Guwahati: With the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly election scheduled for April 9, 2026, more than 2.9 crore eligible voters across all 126 constituencies are gearing up to cast their ballots in a pivotal single‑phase poll.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has emphasised easy access to voter information, especially checking your name and polling station, as election day approaches.
For the first‑time voters and regular electors, here’s how to confirm their eligibility and find their booth. Here’s how to do it in minutes.
️ 1. Check Your Name on the Voter List Online (Fastest Way)
The ECI offers a direct online portal where voters can verify their registration and polling station details:
- Visit the official voter search portal: https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in
This is the Election Commission’s official electoral roll search page.
Enter either:
- Your EPIC (Voter ID) number, OR
- Your Name + District + Constituency
- Hit Search — and you’ll see:
- Your name in the electoral roll
- Your polling station (booth) name & address
- Your part number and constituency
This is the most accurate way to confirm your voting eligibility online. (No login required.)
2. Quick Lookup via SMS — No Internet Needed
For voters who prefer text messages:
Type: ECI <your EPIC number>
Send to: 1950
Example:
If your EPIC is ABC1234567, SMS:
ECI ABC1234567
to 1950.
Within minutes you should receive a response showing your registration status and booth details, a handy option for voters with limited internet access.
3. Use the Voter Helpline App
The Voter Helpline mobile app (available on Android & iOS) also lets you:
- Search your name in the electoral roll
- Download your digital EPIC
- Get booth address and election updates
This is especially useful for first‑time voters who want a mobile‑friendly interface.
