Kerala Blog Express--the seventh chapter of the Kerala tourism department’s venture, has been offering international bloggers a hands-on experience to understand the land’s beauty and bounty. This programme gives international bloggers an opportunity to learn about Kerala. They through their blogs will showcase the enthralling experience Kerala holds for travelers.
This is the seventh edition of the Kerala Blog Express which began in 2014 as a flagship campaign of the tourism department to promote state tourism and increase tourist footfall. Kerala Blog Express will travel through various must-see destinations in the state for the next two weeks. Experiencing folk art forms, and performances, and exploring local cuisine are all prepared as a part of this programme.
The current group includes bloggers from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Italy, Romania, the US, the UK, Netherlands, Canada, Kenya, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Turkey, and Colombia. Two Indian bloggers, Rakesh Rao and Somjit are also part of the team.
The bloggers who topped the online poll with the most votes were included in the group. Their job is to travel through the state and share their sights with the world either through social media or blog posts. With six completed chapters, the Kerala blog express now has over 200 ambassadors worldwide.
From going around Alappuzha to entwining coir ropes in Kumarakom and tasting treats from local toddy shops, the Kerala Blog Express team of 25 bloggers belonging to 21 different countries had a unique experience.
The bloggers visited Aymanam village in Kumarakom. The Aymanam brand has become a hallmark of responsible tourism activities, receiving several awards. The bloggers got an opportunity to interact with the locals here and learn about their livelihood and cultural traditions. They participated in activities including coir rope entwining and spending a night afloat the much-anticipated Alappuzha houseboats.
