Redmi Note 14 SE launches with a new crimson finish, reduced price, and some Note 14 specifications

Redmi has unveiled a fresh variant in its Note 14 series line-up—the Redmi Note 14 SE. Though not an entirely new handset, this special edition is essentially a revamped version of the existing Redmi Note 14, now offered in a bold new colour and at a more reasonable price point.
The key highlights of the Note 14 SE are its Crimson Art colourway—a deep red matte finish that gives it a distinctive visual appeal—and a lower launch price, making it more affordable than the standard Note 14. With a ₹2,000 markdown from the base Note 14 price and an added ₹1,000 bank discount, the SE edition presents a compelling deal.
Redmi Note 14 SE: Pricing and sale details
Redmi is offering the Note 14 SE in a single configuration—6GB RAM paired with 128GB internal storage—priced at ₹14,999. In comparison, the original Note 14 starts at ₹16,999 and is available in four colour options: Titan Black, Mystique White, Ivy Green, and Phantom Purple. The SE version, however, will only be sold in the Crimson Art variant.
The handset will go on sale from August 7 and can be purchased through Flipkart, Xiaomi’s official website, and authorised offline retailers. Customers using select bank cards can avail an instant ₹1,000 discount during checkout.
Redmi Note 14 SE: Display and design
The Note 14 SE carries over the same display technology found in its sibling—a 6.67-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen with adaptive refresh rates of 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz. The display boasts up to 2,100 nits peak brightness and supports 10-bit colour depth for an immersive viewing experience. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, ensuring decent durability in everyday use.
Redmi Note 14 SE: Performance and software
Under the hood, the device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset, built on a 6nm architecture. This is coupled with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, offering reliable performance for day-to-day tasks. There’s also support for microSD card expansion for users needing additional space.
The smartphone comes with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.0, which is based on Android 15, providing a refreshed software experience.
Redmi Note 14 SE: Battery and charging
Powering the Redmi Note 14 SE is a 5,110mAh battery, which supports 45W wired fast charging. This should comfortably deliver a full day's battery life under regular usage conditions.
Redmi Note 14 SE: Camera setup
Photography is handled by a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary camera with an f/1.5 aperture, delivering detailed and vibrant images. The rear camera module also includes an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor for more creative photography options. On the front, there’s a 20MP selfie camera, ideal for both selfies and video calls.
Redmi Note 14 SE: Audio, security, and other features
For multimedia, the Note 14 SE comes equipped with dual stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, offering a richer sound experience. It features an optical in-display fingerprint sensor for secure authentication, retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, and offers an IP64 rating for resistance against dust and water.
Redmi has also included an infrared (IR) blaster, a handy addition that many other brands have phased out. In terms of connectivity, the device supports 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, and has a USB Type-C port for both charging and data transfers.
