Motorola on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) launched the Motorola Edge 70 Pro in India, strengthening its premium smartphone portfolio. The device joins the already introduced Edge 70 and Edge 70 Fusion models, targeting users looking for high-end performance and durability.

Premium design, durability and display take centre stage

  1. The Edge 70 Pro stands out with its robust build, featuring both IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, alongside military-grade certification, making it one of the more rugged premium smartphones currently available in the segment.
  2. On the front, the smartphone sports a large 6.8-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display. It supports a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring fluid scrolling and gaming, while peak brightness reaches an impressive 5,200 nits, enhancing outdoor visibility.
  3. The panel also supports HDR10+, delivering richer contrast and colours for video consumption.
  4. For protection, Motorola has equipped the device with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, adding an extra layer of durability against drops and scratches.
  5. The multimedia experience is further enhanced with stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos support, offering immersive audio output.

Performance, camera and battery aimed at power users

  1. Under the hood, the Edge 70 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, designed to deliver flagship-level performance.
  2. The device supports up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring faster app loading, seamless multitasking, and improved gaming performance.
  3. The smartphone runs on Hello UI based on Android 16. Motorola has promised three major OS upgrades and five years of security updates, aligning with industry standards for long-term software support.
  4. One of the key highlights of the device is its large 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is significantly bigger than most competitors in the segment. The phone supports 90W fast charging, and notably, the charger is included in the box.
  5. In the camera department, Motorola has gone all-in with a triple 50MP setup. The primary sensor is a Sony Lytia 710 with optical image stabilisation (OIS), accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide lens that also doubles as a macro shooter. On the front, the device houses a 50MP selfie camera.
