Kozhikode: MP MK Raghavan announced the second phase of the scheme ‘Koode’ to provide free life-saving surgeries for underprivileged children in an event held here. 'Koode' is jointly ventured by Thanal in Vadakara, Aster Volunteers, the Global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare, and Aster MIMS, Kozhikode.
Under this scheme 250 children under the age of 18 from unprivileged families in Kerala and other states will be supported for life-saving surgeries including born marrow and organ transplant surgeries free of cost. Approximately Rs. 5 crore is expected to be spent on the project.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare, the chief guest at the event inaugurated 'Milestone' a new Pediatric- Neuro Rehabilitation Centre, in association with Thanal, providing yeoman services to the special kids, suffering from SMA and developmental disorders.
