Aster MIMS Kasaragod, Kerala’s 8th multispecialty hospital, opens with 264 beds, 31 medical specialities, cutting-edge diagnostics, and over 600 new jobs.

Kasaragod: Aster DM Healthcare, one of India’s leading healthcare providers, has inaugurated its eighth hospital in Kerala, the state-of-the-art multispecialty facility, Aster MIMS Kasaragod. The hospital was formally dedicated to the public by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in the presence of Dr Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare. The event was also attended by Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, MP Rajmohan Unnithan, and several MLAs and local dignitaries, along with senior Aster leadership, including Anoop Moopen and Dr Anoop Nambiar.
Built at an investment of ₹190 crore, Aster MIMS Kasaragod is a 264-bed facility spanning 2.1 lakh sq. ft., offering 31 medical specialities. The hospital is designed to provide advanced and accessible medical and surgical care to residents of Northern Kerala. The project also generates over 600 new jobs and brings together nearly 60 globally trained doctors.
“It is heartening to see Aster, with its long-standing legacy in healthcare, taking another important step in Kerala,” said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. “ For over four decades, it has delivered exemplary medical services, and this bond of trust with the people of Kerala has only strengthened over the years. I am confident that the same standards of excellence will now benefit the people of Kasaragod as well.”
Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao added, “The establishment of Aster’s hospital in Kasaragod brings world-class healthcare closer to the people of this region. Aster today is not only a trusted healthcare provider in Kerala but also has a strong and expanding presence in Karnataka, where it continues to play a vital role in strengthening the healthcare ecosystem. The hospital features cutting-edge diagnostic facilities, including 1.5T MRI and 160-slice CT technology. Its services cover advanced cardiac and vascular care, ECMO/ECLS support for severe cardiac and respiratory failure, specialised critical care, snakebite treatment, and a 24/7 emergency department with 20 beds and ambulance services.
The facility also includes 44 ICU beds, 16 NICU beds, seven major and two minor operating theatres, seven chemotherapy beds, and 15 dialysis beds, providing comprehensive care for patients across all age groups. In addition, Aster MIMS Kasaragod offers patient- and family-focused facilities, ensuring a holistic healthcare experience.
