Seekh kebab, the popular South Asian dish, is known for its smoky flavour and tender texture. Indulge in the irresistible flavours of this easy homemade vegetarian seekh kebab. Made with paneer and just a few easily-available ingredients, you can enjoy the authentic taste of this South Asian favourite in the comfort of your home. 

Ingredients

  • Potatoes (boiled and peeled)- 250 gms
  • Capsicum- 1
  • Tomato - 1
  • Onion- 1
  • Chopped mint and coriander leaves – ½ cup
  • Green chillies – 5 nos
  • Garam masala- ½ tbsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  • Paneer- 50 gms
  • Lemon- 1
  • Chat masala, salt- as per taste
  • Butter- 2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder- ½ tbsp
  • All purpose flour - ½ tbsp

Preparation

Mash the potatoes using a masher or by hand. Add chopped capsicum, onion, tomato, green chillies, mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, salt and garam masala and mix well. 

Now combine the paneer pieces with it and mould it in the shape of a kebab (cylindrical). 

Brush with butter and pepper powder and coat the kebabs in all purpose flour.

Cook the kebab on a skewer for 10 minutes turning frequently over medium heat or bake in the oven (200 degrees) for 15 minutes.

Garnish with chat masala and lemon juice. Serve hot.
