Kozhikode: Malappuram Perinthalmanna native Adith Krishna Chembath has been selected for the 11th N N Kakkad Literary Award instituted by Mayilpeeli Charitable Society, for his book titled ‘Kaduvante Yathra’.
The award has been given to writers aged below 18 years, since 2002. The award comprises of a cash prize of Rs 10,001, sculpture and a felicitation letter. The award will be handed over to the winner at an event to be held at Kozhikode in December last.
Also a director and actor, Adith is the recipient of many honours including Kadathanad Madhavi Amma Award, Ujjwala Balyam award of the state government, I R Krishnan Methala endowment, Geethakam Navamukulam story award and P K Rosy A Ayyappan poetry prize.
Adith has also won A grade for Ottanthullal in state school youth festival three times. Currently, he is a first year BA Malayalam student at Kottayam CMS College.
The winner was selected by a jury with Dr Ambalappuzha Gopakumar as chairman, C K Balakrishnan as convener and Dr Shreeshailam Unnikrishnan and K P Baburajan as members.
