Kannada publisher and writer Asha Raghu, 46, was found dead at her Malleswaram residence in Bengaluru on Saturday. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and said she was battling depression after her husband’s demise.

Bengaluru: Kannada publisher and writer Asha Raghu (46) died by suicide at her residence in Malleswaram on Saturday, police said.
According to police sources, Raghu was found hanging inside a room of her house. Family members broke open the door after she failed to respond, but she was found dead.

She is survived by her daughter. Her husband, KC Raghu, had passed away two years ago. Police said Asha had been undergoing depression following her husband’s death.
A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Malleswaram police station, and further investigation is underway. After the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family.
Asha Raghu was known in Kannada literary circles as a novelist and publisher. She had also worked in the television industry as a dialogue writer and assistant director.
