
Kochi is set to host the second edition of the International Calligraphy Festival of Kerala (ICFK) from October 2 to 5. This prestigious event will be held at Durbar Hall. It is organised by the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi in collaboration with KaChaTaThaPa, a Trivandrum-based organisation. The proceedings will be guided by renowned calligraphy artist Narayana Bhattathiri.
The festival will feature calligraphers from across the globe, including the acclaimed Hebrew calligrapher Michel D’Anastasio, Đăng Học from Vietnam, and Kim Jin-Young, the Vice President of the Asian Calligraphy Association. Noteworthy Indian calligraphers, such as Achyut Palav, often referred to as the patriarch of Indian calligraphy, and D. Udayakumar, the creator of the Indian Rupee symbol, will also be present.
The ICFK 2024 will offer a range of activities including workshops, live demonstrations, and an international calligraphy exhibition. Attendees can look forward to a music concert by Carnatic musician T. M. Krishna and a dance performance by Sridevi Namboothiri.
