Dr. Mohan Kundar awarded for Kannada translation of Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai’s ‘Chemmeen’ by Dravida Bhasha Translators Association

Bengaluru: The Dravida Bhasha Translators Association (DBTA) announced its 2025 Translation Award, which has been awarded to Dr. Mohan Kundar. The recognition was given for his Kannada translation of the renowned Malayalam novel Chemmeen, written by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai.
The award includes a cash prize of ₹11,111, a citation and a plaque. The formal presentation will take place on September 26 during the fourth annual celebrations of the DBTA in Bengaluru. The ceremony will be chaired by Dr Santhosh Hangal, Secretary of the Kannada Development Authority, as announced by DBTA President Dr Sushma Shankar.
Dr. Mohan, a resident of Kundar in Kasaragod, is a retired professor from Hampi University in Karnataka.
