NPOL Kochi invites applications for a two-year Ocean Science Research Associate position with a monthly fellowship

Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), under Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, Thrikkakara P.O., Kochi, has invited applications for the position of one Research Associate (RA) in the discipline of Ocean Science at the Laboratory.
The engagement will be for a period of two years with monthly fellowship of Rs. 54,000/- + House Rent Allowance as admissible under the rules.
Educational qualifications: Applicant should hold Ph.D in Ocean Sciences or relevant allied subjects, preferably with experience in the field of Physical/Chemical Oceanography or M.Tech (Ocean Technology) with 3 years of post-qualification research or teaching experience in the field of Physical/Chemical Oceanography having at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
All the qualification(s) acquired should be from recognized universities/institutions.
The upper age limit will be 35 years as of the closing date of receipt of application. The upper age limit shall be relaxable for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC as per Government of India norms.

The hard copy of the signed application form, along with self-attested copies of certificates in support of requisite educational qualifications, age, reservation status, etc., should be sent by post to ‘The Director, Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory, Thrikkakara P.O., Kochi - 682 021’ to reach by 19.12.2025 in an envelope superscribed ‘Application for RA’.

Candidates shortlisted by a screening committee will be called for a personal interview at NPOL, Kochi, subsequently. They will be required to produce certificates/testimonials/community certificates, etc., in original form at the time of interview.
