Kerala’s KITE launches QR code-based QTrack app for real-time tracking of Higher Secondary exams.

Thiruvananthapuram: KITE, the technology arm of the Kerala government’s General Education Department, has launched a QR code-based mobile application aimed at enhancing security, transparency and accuracy in the conduct of Kerala Higher Secondary examinations 2026, officials said on Sunday.
The application, titled ‘KITE-QTrack’, has been developed by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) to enable real-time tracking and monitoring of the entire examination process across the state.
Real-time tracking from question papers to valuation camps
The QR code-based tracking system will operate from the moment question paper packets are opened at examination centres until answer scripts are dispatched to valuation camps. The system will be implemented for the Higher Secondary examinations commencing on March 5.
The Higher Secondary Examination wing has issued a circular directing all Chief Superintendents and Deputy Chief Superintendents to download the ‘KITE: QTrack’ app from the Android Play Store and complete login formalities before March 4.
End-to-end automation of examination process
KITE Chief Executive Officer K Anvar Sadath said the initiative forms part of a broader effort to develop a revamped digital portal that will fully automate the examination system, from admissions to the publication of results.
“The post-examination services, including the distribution of duplicate certificates, revaluation, and scrutiny applications, will be implemented through this integrated digital system. With the inclusion of secure online payment facilities, students will henceforth be able to submit all applications entirely through this digital platform,” he said.

Mandatory stage-wise updates during exams
On examination days, officials must update every stage of the process using designated buttons within the app, beginning with the removal of question paper packets from secure storage cupboards.
If an incorrect subject packet is scanned, the system will generate an error message and automatically report the issue as an ‘incident’ to the examination wing, ensuring immediate corrective action.
Authorities must also record the commencement and completion of examinations within specified timeframes. Dedicated login credentials have been issued to Higher Secondary Regional Deputy Directors (RDDs) to facilitate state-level monitoring.
Secure dispatch and malpractice reporting
When answer scripts are sent to valuation camps, details such as track ID, weight, and dispatch time must be entered into the application. The app also allows for instant reporting of malpractices, irregularities or technical issues encountered during the examination process.
KITE has provided a user guide along with the official circular, and a video tutorial is available on the KITE VICTERS YouTube channel to assist examination officials.
