New Delhi: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan demanding immediate action against the National Testing Agency (NTA) and those allegedly involved in irregularities linked to the NEET examination.

In its letter, the IMA expressed serious concern over the controversy surrounding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), stating that the issue has caused anxiety among students, parents and the medical community. The association called for a transparent and time-bound investigation into the matter to restore confidence in the examination process.

The doctors’ body also urged the Centre to ensure accountability and take stringent measures against individuals or organisations found responsible for any malpractice. According to the IMA, maintaining the integrity and credibility of medical entrance examinations is essential for safeguarding the future of aspiring medical students.

The association further appealed to the Union Education Ministry to implement reforms that would strengthen the examination system and prevent similar incidents in the future.

The NEET controversy has sparked widespread debate across the country, with students and opposition parties raising questions over alleged discrepancies and the functioning of the National Testing Agency.
