Thiruvananthapuram: Finland's Minister of Education Anna-Maja Henriksson lauded the performance of Kerala schools. She said that the performance of the state schools and the teachers with a focus on students’ creative abilities is admirable.
The education minister and convey are on a four-day visit to India to promote the export activities of Finnish education operators and meet ministers of education from the central government, states, and education authorities.
As a part of it, Anna visited the Thaikkad Government LP school and the Vazhuthacaud Pre Primary Teachers Training Institute. She commended the importance the state gives to education and applauded the teaching system here.
Anna added that teachers are a crucial part of any country’s future as better teachers create better generations. She spoke about Finland's education system which is not assessment based. The education minister also expressed her appreciation for the availability of free education in the country.
General Education Principal Secretary Rani George and Director of General Education Shanavas S were also present.
The Finland team was welcomed at the airport by Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty. The team is scheduled to return Thursday after their two-day Kerala visit.
