1) Army evacuates 790 persons after heavy rains in Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli

Ahmedabad: The Indian Army has carried out rescue missions in flood-hit districts of south Gujarat, Ahmedabad, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, evacuating more than 790 stranded persons from inundated and inaccessible areas, officials said on Sunday.

Kolkata: More than half of the PSA oxygen plants installed under PM CARES and CSR initiatives in West Bengal during Covid were either uncommissioned or non-functional as of December 2023, while ventilators and oxygen concentrators were found lying idle at two government hospitals, a CAG report said.

10) Nepal requests India to recognise National ID card as valid travel document

Kathmandu: Nepal has requested India to recognise the National Identity Card as a valid travel document for Nepali citizens visiting the country, a move that will allow the NID to be used alongside the existing citizenship certificate and passport, a senior official said on Sunday. Additionally, Nepal permitted Rs 200 and Rs 500 Indian currency in the country.
