Lakhs of Class 12 students were left frustrated after the Central Board of Secondary Education re-evaluation portal failed to go live as scheduled, triggering fresh concerns over recurring technical glitches in the system.
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) once again faced widespread disruption after its re-evaluation and mark verification portal failed to become accessible on June 1, leaving students unable to begin the application process.
The board had announced that the online facility for photocopying answer sheets, mark verification, and re-evaluation for Class 12 results would open on the scheduled date. However, the website remained in maintenance mode throughout the day, displaying a message indicating that the site would be available soon.

Thousands of students across the country reported repeated failed attempts to log in, with many expressing concern over delays in submitting applications and paying required fees within the deadline window.
The situation has further intensified criticism of CBSE’s recently implemented on-screen marking (OSM) system, with several students previously alleging discrepancies in their evaluated answer sheets.
According to official scheduling, the re-evaluation process was meant to allow students to request photocopies of answer scripts, verify marks, and apply for rechecking of scores following the Class 12 board examination results.
However, technical issues prevented the portal from becoming operational, despite earlier assurances that system upgrades had been completed to handle high traffic volumes.
Students and parents raised concerns on social media platforms, stating that repeated maintenance errors and login failures have become a recurring issue in CBSE’s digital examination infrastructure.
Education stakeholders have pointed out that this is not the first instance of disruption, as earlier phases of result processing and answer-sheet access also witnessed complaints of mismatched scripts, payment gateway failures, and delays in response.
The repeated outages have led to growing anxiety among students awaiting timely completion of the re-evaluation process, especially as admission deadlines in higher education institutions approach.
CBSE officials have previously stated that infrastructure upgrades were being implemented to ensure transparency and smoother digital processing, but the latest failure has renewed questions over system reliability and preparedness.
